default tray icons

I removed some "mail" looking icon from my tray by acident that used to notify me from different stuff like pidgin logins/logouts/messages and the email client. i know pidgin has an try icon i can add there but its not the same, anyone mind telling me the name of that default icon to install it back?

You may be referring to the Notification Area. Right click, Add to Panel, Notification Area. The Pidgin icon appears within it when Pidgin is running and you have selected to have it displayed (via Pidgin's preferences settings).
