Firefox extensions do not currently work in chromium (nor do I expect them to at any point). Chromium currently does not seem to have support for extensions regardless.

The second sentence is not true. Chrome and Chromium both support extensions and there is an ad blocking extension called Adsweep that is no longer maintained but still works just fine.

Surprise to me. Thanks for the info. Other than Java (a pain to get a 32bit version on a 64bit machine), there isn't much I'm missing from firefox right now.
