I'm also having problems with a "missing file." I uninstalled and installed again, and got the same error message. Here's the error:

Could not launch 'gDesklets'
Failed to execute child process "gdesklets" (No such file or directory)

I'm running Jaunty on a Dell Inspiron E1405.

Try launching it from a terminal, & see what errors you get. I think I had to install python 2.5 to get gdesklets to work.

Python worked. Thanks!

No problem.
I can't be sure because I haven't played with screenlets in a long time, but I thought they were in system>admin maybe?
