I just installed the newest apt update for Firefox. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04.

Firefox does not load at all now; if I run it form the terminal it gives no output, goes to the prompt again and no window appears. If I click to launch it from the Gnome taskbar or menu, nothing happens.

Has anyone else had problems upgrading to FF 3.0.14 or whatever it is?

This just happened this morning.

Go to Applications > Internet > what do you see for web browsers?

Well, I removed FF using aptitude and reinstalled it, and now it launches. However it's not using my correct profile.

There have been some crazy things with FF on my machine before; if you check out my past posts I have issues with when I click a link from Skype, FF 2 (that is Firefox 2, in every way shape and form) launches, though I can detect no installation of Firefox 2 on my machine.

I have Epiphany, Chrome, Konqueror and Opera in the menu now. FF probably should be there, too, and it is working now.

HMm, no - now it's back to not launching, though it was just up a minute ago! I get completion for the Firefox command in bash, but there is no activity in top when I run the command.

Sorry for my spastic reports.

I restarted X and it's working now... still not in the Applications menu, however.
