Hello. I have ubuntu 9.04
I have installed many programs and some tools, but I cannot find some programs. Or sometimes I have to look a lot of time for where ubuntu put the program. Is there some way, some easy way to know where ubuntu put a shortcut of my program if I cannot find it easily?

System>Preferences>Main Menu this will show all programs. You have to make sure the are checked and then they should always be in the Application menu.

whereis myprogram

locate myprogram

Sometimes if they don't show up as icons and such they are command line tools.
