I haven't tested KDE for quite a while (2-3 years) and would like to take another peek.

1.: However, I am afraid that all KDE-apps installed will also end up in the Gnome app menu which would then inflate with too many applications to be comfortable. Can I prevent that somehow?

2.: Moreover, last time (dapper?) I deinstalled KDE from my Ubuntu desktop (because I decided not to use it), it broke the system. Would that happen again nowadays, if I used "apt-get -r kubuntu-desktop"?
