I'm using jaunty on dell inspiron 1410 with the following specs:

2.0 Ghz Core2Duo
2 GBs of Ram
256 MBs Shared intel integrated graphics

When i first got my laptop, it was running Hardy and the visual effects ran smoothly. When i upgraded to Jaunty, the computer just keep telling that the effects could not be enabled.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Any help will be highly appreciated! :D:D

Check System > Admin > Hardware Drivers, make sure that your driver is activated. If not, activate it. Close that window, now System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects, either Normal, Extra, or Custom should be checked.

When I installed Jaunty I can't activate NVidia drivers from "hardware controller". What I do was install them directly from Synaptic (Synaptic, not add/remove programs) and it works.
