Are there any methods out there (obscure WM or whatever) for 2 monitors to behave independantly in desktop switching.
This would obviously only work with monitors of identical size.
e.g. imagine having desktops 1-4 of 1680x1050 each, and left & right 1680x1050 monitors could show any pair of desktops regardless of topology.
or, perhaps the left & right monitors could both scroll vertically between 2 desktops.
i guess it would be weird to allow both monitors to display the same desktop
I guess this would take the form of each monitor having it's own pager (& possibly panel)
