Hi, I have been trying for days to install this USB device in Ubuntu 9.04, i have read everything in this forum and google for some success. The most confusin part is to know what acutal drivers work with this thing!

I am at work so i cannot use my terminal right now to supply output, i am a complete novice to Linux also, as i only installed Ubuntu last week.

Before buying the LinkSys WUSB54GC adapter i was reading it was'nt too much trouble to install, almost OOTB senario. I had no idea the simplest thing as a different version could cause so much brain carnage!

Does anybody know if this card is supported yet or has a driver patch that works that i could use? And is it even worth keeping it? could you recommend me a card that actually works with Ubuntu 9.04.

Thanks in advance.

You may want to take a look here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported
It's a pretty complete listing, hopefully you can either find some tips on getting things working, or find something else that does.

Be careful of version numbers, often different versions of the same card can have totally different chipsets.

In my experience, most wifi just works nowadays, but clearly there are exceptions. Just make sure if you get something new you can try before you buy or return it if it's a no-go.
