Interesting Howard. But i prefer to boot using GRUB, it is way more versatile and super easy to configure multi OS systems to boot. My personal preference is to stay away from anything windows. I have win 7 for 2 reasons, first I need windows for work and secondly I do a lot of work on windows boxes (build & repair from my home) so I need to stay abreast of the new stuff. I only use windows about once per month for work and about once per week to try out win 7. Win 7 seems better than Vista by far. With that being said it is still windows with all the inherent security and resource problems among others.

But that is the beauty of linux- you can usually do things more than one way, and there is usually an alternative that suits most preferences.

I prefer to go thru the Windows loader, just in case MSFT changes something, becasue Windows in my primary system.

Not to mention, as Windows is my primary system, I cannot justify the time to learn the ins and outs of GRUB.

In a few months, I will be adding Windows 7 to a Vista system. After that is done, I'll try to create a triple-boot Vista/Win 7/Ubuntu system. I guess by that time Ubuntu 9.10 will have been released.

GRUB manual (http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html) if you are an average learner it won't take long to know the "ins & outs" of setting up GRUB

I have little incentive to read any document, of significant length, that is not paginated (with page numbers) and does not include page numbers in the index.
