Hello,
Im a new linux user and am having a few problems with the update manager. I get the error message below (without astrixes):
Ive got Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04.
****
W: Failed to fetch http://tw.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/p/pulseaudio/pulseaudio-module-x11_0.9.14-0ubuntu20.2_i386.deb
Unable to connect to tw.archive.ubuntu.com http:
****
It seems like a connection problem but I wondered if anybody else is getting it. Im an English guy but I live in China and there have recently been some other websites blocked like facebook (think people might have been using it to coordinate riots in the West of China in the recent trouble). I looked at sites to bypass the Great Firewall of China but these have already been blocked as I heard that there was a linux module available for this problem already. If its not what I think it is then please correct me. Im a newbie and keen to learn the basics.
Oh, there is one other thing. I did try and set up a firewall (firestarter) that might be related to this problem also. I get an error message from this too
***
Failed to start the firewall
The device eth0 is not ready.

If its something really basic please just point me to a page that I could read about it
Thanks

ps. if anybody has any offtopic questions about Shanghai or China just email me.
