cause compiz slows my computer down and i dont like it but i want a dock

I would recommend just getting rid of cairo dock. I use the GnomeDo toolpack. Just switch the views to a dock and you can change skins and even search all of your files. Its the superior dock.

yeah but i prefer to not use compiz and gnomedo requires that.

ArmenianLeader4 you're absolutely not constructive (not to mention that Gnome-Do is a finder, not a dock ...)
Go to the help of Cairo-Dock, you have all answsers
shortly : run xcompgr or activate composite in Metacity, or use the fake transparency of Cairo-Dock.
