View Full Version : [ubuntu] Garbled Screen Boot After FRGLX Install

I was trying to get 3d acceleration going on my Radeon 200m which was apparently a bad idea. Now, when I boot, it shows various graphical garbled things at the top and bottom of the screen and does not boot to desktop. I tried the recovery menu, resetting the graphical stuff but it didn't seem to work. The last thing I did before this was download and install in the FRGLX drivers from the Ubuntu repos. Any ideas on how I can fix this.

I am using the latest Ubuntu by the way.

Thanks,
Wizzel

Old post, I know, but I had the same problem with the same card. I was recommended Hardy or Intrepid as (and I could have misunderstood this) it's an issue with newer kernels. I use Kubuntu Hardy and it (3D) worked fine for me.
Possibly not the best solution in the long term but works for me for now
