How do i set up VNC? I googled stuff like "VNC Ubuntu", "VNC server Ubuntu", and "How VNC Ubuntu" and i got nothing except how to connect to a system that's already set up, and that it's pre-installed on Ubuntu and i just have to enable remote desktop, and guides for dapper and gutsy and hardy. I'm running 9.04 and when i enabled remote desktop it says that "Your desktop is only reachable over the local network. Others can access your computer using the address 192.168.1.100 , (myname)-desktop.local." I'm absolutely new VNC and such so that's why I'm posting in the Beginner section.

well there are tutorials arround:

what exactly do you want to do? most people are fine with the remote desktop option (as it is a terrible idea to expose vnc to the internet and the public, unless you do a good bit to secure it).

Thanks for pointing me to documentation. I just felt like knowing how to use VNC would be useful so I'm really just learning here. I'm not doing anything work related.
