i installed kubuntu, then ubuntu-desktop, then ubuntustudio-desktop, then uninstalled kubuntu-desktop, and now everything is fine except bluetoot support is not working. there is no bluetooth icon in the notification area, and the Bluetooth File Sharing icon in the menu doesn't do anything when i click it. as far as i can tell i installed all the relevant packages. i can pair devices with the preferences > bluetooth wizard, but i don't know how to transfer files. obexftp connects to my phone and lists directories, so it's not a hardware problem. any ideas?

I would recommend taking a look at blueman, I've found it to be far better than the included utilities for bluetooth.
