I have heard about TPM chips before and the whole Trusted Computing stuff and was wondering if anyone knew right off the top of their head what the status of this invasive nonsense is. My current PC doesn't have any of that junk in it but I am wondering, when I build my next computer am I going to have to look pretty hard to find a processor, motherboard, video card, etc. that doesn't have DRM hardcoded into it?

I understand that in some situations a chip like that could be useful, but unless you are a advanced network admin I wouldn't think it would really be anything other than an invasion of privacy and restriction of use.

Thoughts?

No, 99% of the stuff still is relativly DRM free.
