I'm currently running Ubuntu 9.04 on my lappy and an old pc i'm using as a file server, and I'd like to use it as a secondary OS on my main computer, but I'm getting weird errors. I've tried installing it from bootup, i've tried booting into the live cd (but it wont boot), and even tried instlaling it from within Windows, but I keep getting an error message. I've attached a burry picture of the message.
My system specs:
Mobo: DFI 790FX-M2RS
Processor: Phenom II 940
RAM: Patriot 4GB DDR2 800
Video card: Generic ATI x300 (my video card broke, but i got the same error with my ATi HD 4830)
I also have a Pci-e ASUS TV tuner.

Sounds like the cd is defective. Can you try it on another machine?

Thats what i thought originally as well, so I ordered a disk from canonical. i used thisk disk to install on my laptop and on a virtual pc just fine.

Then it might be the cd drive. Can you hook up another?
