So basically I installed Compiz yesterday, and I remember last time I was using it I was able to have it zoom out when I press ctrl + alt so I see the entire cube when I rotate it, not just each side as it flips. I've been trying to find how to do that again for a good hour, can anybody please point me in the right direction?

ctrl + alt buttons held in at once and hold the left mouse key in and move the mouse.

Try running an
sudo apt-get install compizconfig settings-manager
Then go to settings and see if you can change the option in Desktop Cube.

Set at low speed and play with it first. Adjust speed + other things later until you like it.

To clear things up what I'm trying to do is to get it to look like this
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=75491&file1=75491-1.png&file2=&file3=&name=Lighting+Animated+(Skydome)
Where I can look at each of the desktops from that zoomed out point of view.

Zoom at the bottom of this page sets the cube size.
