Hello All,

For personal reasons I need to install Windows XP on two seperate partitions. A third partition will be for Ubuntu. I have two questions:

1) Is it possible (even easy) to install windows XP on two seperate partitions of the same hard disk?

2) What would be the best way to do this?
Example (???):
a) Define the three partitions with Ubuntu Live CD
b) Install Windows twice (once on each of the two partitions)
c) Install Ubuntu on third partition and set GRUB as boot loader.

I appreciate any help or comments.

Thanks!

You already answered your question.

The steps you laid down, are the best way to go.

and yes, you can install xp on different partitions of the same hard drive.

For various reasons, I'd start with the XP installer CD, get it to do the partitioning, and then do the 2 XP installs into different partitions.
Next you can do the Ubuntu install, modifying the partitions as you want in the initial stages - when you've finished, with a bit of luck, the GRUB loader menu will be set up and ready to go.
