Ubuntu 9.04 & System Password

I upgraded my Ubuntu to 9.04. Now when I start up my computer it asks for a username and password, and won't let me advance. It doesn't accept the password I used to modify my system.

How can I override this or find out what my password is? Before I upgraded I never had to enter a username or password.

Some peopleprefer not to have to sign in every time but during updates the settings may reset back to the more secure mode, so it is sometimes best to just keep signing in every time.
