Problem install apps on Jaunty

Hi, this might be a nooby question...but i'm a noob so...

I just installed 9.04 and i've been trying to reinsall all the apps i had before. But when i do lets say, sudo apt-get install VLC. it just tells me cannot find vlc?? Is there a new way to install things in this version?

9.04 installs things the smae way as befor, but make sure you have all the repos enabled under software sources, which you can find underthe top panel choice of system > admin > software sources.

All the ones but source code are checked off under Ubuntu Software The two under Third Party weren't checked off though. i checked them off and reloaded the packages and it seems to be working now.
