View Full Version : Has anyone been able to compile Nouveau upstream? (The one with Gallium3D code?)

I've been really curious about this myself. Gallium3D, to me, is a wonderful initiative to create a better graphics API for Free Software operating systems. Since hearing about the Nouveau Project (FOSS Nvidia driver) merging in code, I've wondered: has anyone gotten it to build and do anything here?

What my ultimate goal is is to build it with the linux-libre kernel and basically have my biggest hurdle (graphics) taken care of so that I can tinker with a more GPL-compliant system (no nasty binary blobs)

So, I ask you, Ubuntu Community: Who here has gotten it to work so far?

I think you'd do better asking over in Karmic testing and discussion.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it applied to Karmic since Gallium/Nouveau is still pretty experimental...didn't know if it was in Karmic's Nouveau driver by default.
