has anyone tried this? what do you think?

SiteAdvisor helps protect you from all kinds of Web-based security threats including spyware, adware, spam, viruses, browser-based attacks, phishing, online fraud and identity theft.

Our automated testers continually patrol the Web to browse sites, download files, and sign-up for things with e-mail addresses. As you search, browse, download or register online, SiteAdvisor's safety ratings help you stay safe and in control.
it seems it uses bots which work like spiders. it will tell you if when you sign up for something at a site whether they will send you spam when they get your email address.

here's something about the extension by Ben Edelman

Just tried it out, it's really sweet. There is a lot of useful information here and I'm glad for the recommendation. I'd suggest checking it out, everyone.

Combine this with No Script and Ad Block and Ad Block filter set, and you should be good to go :) very cool.

I installed it and it even works on porn sites. Of course I would never go to a porn site except to test something like this.
