Hi, I've already installed Ubuntu on my laptop and now I'm trying to install it on my desktop but I cant.
When the Graphic interface wants to show up my monitor turns down and said "Range no supported", That happens with 2 monitors that I've tried. It can be the video card, is an nvidia 256 Mb. Any help will be useful. Thanks a lot.

I don't know if I personally can help you, but if you give us more info someone should be able to help you.

What brand computer?

How size RAM?

AMD64 or Intel?

Are you using the same disk you used for your laptop?

If yes, does your desktop have the same brand CPU as the laptop, such as 64 bit?

If no have you tried the check disk function?

These are all questions that when answered should bring you good help.

when booting the live CD hit F4 and choose safe graphic mode. see boot options (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions)

if that doesn't work try the alternate text based installer (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#alternate)

First try running_rabbit's suggestions. I want to add one: did you MD5SUM (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) the iso from which you burned the CD?

I had this problem and hooked up a newer monitor, and the range was supported- everything ran great and now that I could see, I switched the drivers and display modes around and switched back to my other monitor.

Good luck!
