Hi,
I have a Ubuntu 8.1 machine with hard disk 500 GB.
I want to remove it and install Windows XP on to it.
But When I put WIndows XP its detecting only 128GB .
Its strange where has remaining 350 gb gone?

Can you please help me resolve the error.

Thanks
Chetan

based on the fact that you are leaving us saddens my heart...pleaes consider a wubi install inside windows at least but none the lest...windows cannot see ubuntu partitions...(ever dual boot and try looking at your ubuntu partitions in windows disk management console....NOTHING SHOWS MY MAN!!) so you need to format your entire drive prior to installing windows...there is plenty of third party software that can help with that... acronis active disk suite is what i recommend! remember...format the entire 500gb drive then windows will see all 500...well more like 480 something!!

You can use the Ubuntu live cd (the one you used to install Ubuntu) to delete all the partitions from the disk. Just use the Partition Editor. Reboot into your windows install disk and good luck.
