A search of the title didn't turn up anything so here goes.
I have an old (8 years) dell latitude notebook with ati video.
It's a 1 GHz P2 (coppermine) with 1/2 GB and ati video (1400x1050)
The live cd boots but the screen has this odd effect, a duplicate on the right third of the screen. it interferes with the other display and makes it completely unusable. Not sure where to go from here.
I was thinking maybe booting in text mode and loading a different video driver, but have no idea how to do that or if it's the right thing to do.
Any help would be appreciated.
