July 30th, 2009, 01:49 AM
Ok, so I have an HP pavilion dv5 entertainment laptop, and I used a ubuntu 9.04 live cd to create a startup flash drive. It's worked fine on other computers, but it wont work on my laptop. It goes most of the way through the bootup when I enter try ubuntu without any changes to your computer, and then suddenly gives me this. Any solutions?

If you search the forums before you post a question, you will often find the answer. You are one of DOZENS of people to ask the same question.

I'm also looking for the answer. So far, it seems to be, "try 8.10," but I will keep searching.
