Hello, I have downloaded firefox 3.5 and installed it, when it opens it's good and it is the version 3.5 but if i close it and use the firefox icon at the top of the menubar / panel, firefox 3.0 is launched, how can i install firefox 3.5 and overwrite firefox 3?
Also when i choose to remove firefox with the add/remove software application, it tells me that firefox can't be deleted because i have one or many applications that need firefox,

what can i do?

I would like to at least replace the firefox menu icon from the panel to the one pointing to firefox 3.5 as it is right now opening firefox 3.0

Right-click on the icon in the panel and select "Properties".
Then change the Command from e.g. "firefox %u" to "firefox-3.5 %u".
That should do it.

You can follow my guide (http://compustorm.no-ip.org/2009/07/howto-install-firefox-3-5-on-ubuntu-jaunty/) if you want to use firefox 3.5 as the default browser on ubuntu
