strange issue

Hello,

I got Ubuntu 8.04 LTS with LUKS. I been having some strange issues with the computer. For some reason I cannot get the networking with that computer to work. I can ping it and can access the internet on it but I cannot connect to it through shared folders via Samba and not even through SSH or VNC. Can anyone please help me?

Try going to your network manager maybe it will show what the error is.

is it firewall, router or LUKS problem?
do you have any software firewall?
Is proper port forwarding rules set in your router?
Will the disk encryption affect samba? this is unknown.
But i don't think that it will affect vnc or ssh :)
