Hi all, I have a friend who I installed on her old computer Ubuntu 9.04, she was very stressed about virus than now she's very happy about her new fresh system.

Everything work good except the speed of the system that is limited cause the only 256MB of RAM installed. The computer is relatively old, she have a AMD Semperon 2.6Ghz on a MSI K8T Neo-V (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8T_Neo-V) that support a maximum of 2GB of RAM.

I think that a good idea is buy a 512MB module to add at the 256MB already installed, the purchase is cheap, but what about the result? Is ubuntu quite good with 768MB of RAM? Do you think that is better install 1GB or 2GB?

A note: my friend use the computer just for open office, films, photos, skype and internet..

Thanks in advance

The more RAM the better :)
I'd go 1GB min.
