I am trying to get my display setting to stick and I read somewhere either here or on the Mint forum to log in as root and tehm go to the nvidia x server settings, make the change and then save as root. I did that on Mint 7 which I running with wubi install on win xp. On my other hard drive I have UUE 2.3 and it won't let me login as root. Can anyone tell how to do it? Thanks for all your HELP.

In Ubuntu to run a program with root privilege put sudo in front for a command line program.

or gksudo for a graphical program.

You can Google how to log into Ubuntu as root. But forum policy says we can't post that how-to here. forum policy on log-in-as-root tutorials - Ubuntu Forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=716201)
