View Full Version : [all variants] How does one assign functions to special keyboard keys?

I have a Logitech Cordless Desktop Comfort and I love it. I've got just a couple complaints though:
1) The volume up/down and mute buttons appear to work (i.e. volume slider goes up and down) but the volume doesn't change
2) I have 4 preset buttons, numbered 1 through 4, which have no function whatsoever.

I'd like to assign them to particular tasks (i.e. starting an RDP session to a specific server).

The buttons don't appear to be detected in the Keyboard Shortcuts app (gnome-keybinding-properties).
How does one go assigning a feature to an undetected key? Surely something (mayb xserver) knows I'm pressing that button...
