how to install downloaded package

hi friends, I am very new to linux.

I have just downloaded kompozer html editor. I have tried install through synaptic package manaer. but when I select for installation, it goes online for download new package.

please tell me how to install package which is already downloaded.

What file extension is it?

downloaded file is "kompozer-0.8a4-gcc4.2-i686.tar.gz"

I have extracted in folder "kompozer-0.8a4".

There should be a read me file in there?


cd /name of folder


./configure


make


sudo make install
