I downloaded Jaunty 9.4 64 bit and booted up from the live CD before installing. I already have Jaunty 9.4 32 bit installed. When I checked the memory mgr, it only marks 3325 megs instead of 4 gigs of RAM the same as in 32 bit OS.

Supposedly my processor is 64 bit ready, at least according to Intel web page specs.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help, sage and kind Ubuntu wunderkind:P

Do you have an onboard graphics card? They normally "borrow" some of your RAM.

Close, but no cigar. I have an ATI PCIx card.

Does the mobo have to be 64bit ready also? in other words, does the chipset have anything to do with 64bit?

In that case you might need to enable something in your BIOS, can't think of any other possibilities :|
