Hi, all.

So I've been using Ubuntu 7.04 for ... well, a long time. I decided today I would upgrade to 9.04; since 7.04 is no longer supported, I couldn't auto-update.

So I burned a CD. I put the CD in the tray and restarted. I got an Ubuntu screen with an option to install. So I did. The progress moved, got to the end, and that's where the problem started.

My display is showing something, but it's all wonky. It basically looks as if the image on the screen is having the living hell shaken out of it etch-a-sketch style. The mouse animation are fine, however. Normal arrow, normal unix loading wheel. But I can't read anything on the screen, let alone navigate through whatever install screens are up.

I have a wide-aspect ration monitor, but I never had any problems with 7.04... any thoughts? Thanks, again.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions

at boot hit F4 and choose safe graphic mode. if that doesn't work try the alternate text based installer (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#alternate)
