Making a Distribution

Is there a way for me to add a package to a distribution? What I would like to do is make my own distribution of Ubuntu with my applications added. This way when the sysadmins do a install, my applications would be automatically installed on our systems. This would save time, because the sysadmins wouldn't have to load my package.
