How Do I partition XP on a Ubuntu Operating system?

I'm trying to dual boot xp and ubuntu, but when I try to install the xp CD, it takes me straight to the ubuntu startup. I am on a dell computer and I have to hit F12 to boot from the CD, I did that and it still took me to the Ubuntu start-up (Ya i know a repeat).

Why is it doing this? Is there any other way to install Windows Xp on my computer?

Your xp disk may be bad, if it will not boot the computer.
