dell mini 9 issues

i am trying to reinstall ubuntu from the cd (i have an external cd drive), but i can only get to the point where i have to type "proceed" then after that, the ubuntu logo shows up and then goes away, leaving me with a blank screen. can anyone help. I have tried booting from both hard drive, usb, cd and all other options.

hi what version of ubuntu are you using?

i have version 9.04 and a dell mini 9
at the mo it ius running windows xp and i tried to install off cd and it allows me to select english language but won't allow me to select what type of install, aka off the cd and don'[t affect the pc or to just install

how did u get 9.04 installed on the mini?

i was using version 8.04
