well, i'm learning about computers (well trying to go beond the "average user" i should say), i thought it would be a great idea to learn how to install ubuntu through the text installer...but before i reboot and all that hassle, i'd like to know how to do it, i can't seem to find any info on google other then text based install is great for low graphics computer and gives you better control over the install.

so how does one proform a text based install, like what basic commands, or maybe a website that talks about it in detail...

thanks so much (^_^)

Here is a good one -> http://members.iinet.net/~herman546/index.html.
The guides mostly assume that the user is going to dual boot with a version of Windows, if that's not your case, simply disregard the Windows related info.

Herman's site (link posted by Mikewhatever) is a great one to learn from. Tip: On a piece of paper, draw out your allocations and partitioning table to give you a visual guide as you go through the text-based installation.

YEAH! i know what you mean, whenever i'm doing something in a shell..a preplaned command chain on paper is a MUST, XD its such a pain to get there and run into problems....then you have to get out and restart into GUI and go find answers....and before you know it a whole day is gone!
a very valuble tip indeed! (^_^)
