I've made a live Ubuntu USB disk using both USBuntu and Unetbootin. It works fine in persistent mode. However, what I really want to do is make a disk that is my main desktop/portable pc i.e no matter what machine I am using I can boot from this disk and access my data etc.
Do I just get a large enough flash drive, partition it as appropriate (I was thinking of \ using ext4 and \home using ext4) and then install to it.
I want to save all my preferences, booksmarks etc to this usb drive and just carry that with me wherever I go.
I would like it to behave just like a regular pc that can have the o/s upgraded/software added or removed as normal.
Is this feasible? What is the best way of doing this?
TIA.
