For some reason I can no longer access my Ubuntu desktop (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7669211#post7669211). Is there a way to re-install Ubuntu 9.04 from the terminal?

What I mean by re-install from terminal is: Is there a way to re-install ubuntu without the Live CD? I don't have a CD player in my laptop.

You can make a live USB using unetbootin in any other windows or linux computer. You have to download the ISO from ubuntu site. If you have access to another jaunty computer it can be done directly without unetbootin from System --> Administration --> USB disk creator.
