It took me 23, 23 attempts to join. 50% of the time at least one of the characters is unreadable, and to add insult to injury, even when it is clear & you enter exactly what it says, it insists that I did it wrong.

I wonder how many people that little beauty has stopped from joining?

I hate it when CAPTCHA's go beyond the call of duty by not only blocking the bots, but blocking the humans as well.

Maybe it's a cunning scheme to frustrate human spammers so much that they don't join :p

Ubuntu Brainstorm's captcha is/was pretty bad - it rendered words in ASCII art and as a result it was difficult to tell whether a particular letter was an X or an M (or a G, H, F, V or R)

Tell me about it. Idiots.

So frustrating genuine users who are trying to join is ok if it stops a few Chinese spammers?

I wonder what they're trying to do with those CAPTCHA's. Keep bots out? Or keep everyone out?
