Google Voice (http://www.google.com/voice)

Anyone here use it??

I have an account, and I love it.

What is your opinion of it??

Google recently released an Android app, as well as a BlackBerry app for it. No official Windows Mobile app, however there are a couple 3rd party apps out there.

Are there any linux apps out there??

I don't.

I don't know, since I don't use it.

Looks interesting though...

How did u get an account? I signed up for an invitation a week ago but have not got anything back yet. It seems pretty interesting but I think it would be better when you can use your own number IMHO. i'm just a 15 yr old who uses ubuntu and kinda a geek so thats what i think

I got my account a good 2-3 years ago, when it was known as Grand Central. I'm pretty sure I got invited by a friend, however, my memory isn't the greatest anymore.

Also, I find it pretty awesome you have free SIP access to your account. I have a fully functional (ability to receive, and make calls, as well as 2 way SMS) phone service for 100% free.

I use SIP access through Ekiga.

handyman: it's (realistically) probably going to be a while before you get anything back on the invite

I am currently using it. It is great but don't expect anything back on that invite until September. As for native apps there are none because it is entirely web based.

I like the concept, but since I only own one phone, I don't need it.

I'm using it with skype. But I'm having trouble using Google Voice with Ekiga.
