funky after ati install

I know that there are alleged problems with ati drivers and all, but this is the only issue i have had after installing my asus 4770. See the area if the screen below the open window? That window is maximized, however I still have that space between the bottom of the window and the top of the toolbar. I'm running through an hdmi and the resolution is 1280x1024. Any ideas?

Grab the lower right corner of the Firefox Window with the mouse and stretch it out to fill the space like you want it...

Then shut down Firefox and then load it again and see if it's where you want it...

nope. Its not just firefox, its all of my programs.

Is it the dock app you have running? Try closing that.

thats gnome do and that didnt work. Granted, it not a life or death issue, just one of irritation.
