Why not give the liveUSB a try (aka TRY UBUNTU WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING).

UNR, I think (and correct me if I'm wrong), is optimized for the netbook screen size and not necessarily for the atom processor.

This is the "tested (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupport/Machines/Netbooks)" list for UNR. From googling m72sr (http://www.nbspares.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=65&Itemid=), it seems that it uses a core 2 duo or celeron which are common processors.

Give the liveUSB a try.

thanks raymend,

yeah, my one has celoron processor.
seems a good idea to try with ubuntu live USB

Does it give same performance as real ubuntu,
or what are the key features i should check with LiveUSB

Thanks

i tried, with live CD
it didnt take my screen resolution correctly,
tried changing, only 2 options were there, both seemed too big fonts and icons
it didnt detect other devices as camera, fingerprint,
as i plugged in it took USB 3G modem, but i cloud not get connected.

Thereafter i installed it,
no changes to above results, except, there is only one option for screen resolution
screen is too big i cannot see "apply" "ok" buttons in dialog boxes.
other problems as above are still unsolved
