View Full Version : [ubuntu] Howto install linux distro from running ubuntu system?

I want to install other linux distros (fedora, kubuntu, etc...) without burning .iso to cd and booting the system from it.

Howto install linux from running Jaunty computer. Is it possible with apt?

I don't have need to run OS as virtual Guest.

Do you mean install using raw hdd access?

Install Virtualbox (not the OSE one)
Download the ISO for the Operating System(OS) you would like to try out.
Click on the "New" button and create a new Virtual Machine (VM).
Select your new VM and click on the "Settings" button.
Choose the CD/DVD Rom drive in the left window pane.
Tick the Mount CD/DVD Drive box.
Tick the ISO Image File box.
Click the browse button and point it to the ISO you downloaded in step 2.
Click the "Start" button install the OS to the VM. :P

Please explain exactly what your trying to do; I think I'm confused at this point.

Virtualization will be my vote in trying out various distros.
