Folks, now that v3.2 is released, in terms of 2D/3D graphics - how do you think does OpenGL 3.2 stack up against DirectX 11?
I remember people complaining a lot when OpenGL 3.0 was released - that it didn't catch up enough compared to the graphics stuff DirectX at that time offered.
Does OpenGL 3.2 vs DirectX 11 close the gap?

I havn't really got wha the real fuzz is about D3D 11 apart from tessellation but apart from that well,
OpenGL 3.2 got what D3D 10.1 got afaik. + nicer api.

I would like PHONG shading to be one of the available defaults (without having to write shaders).

I would like PHONG shading to be one of the available defaults (without having to write shaders).
That would bloat the APIs, it's fairly easy to implement (or copy and paste)
