Quickest way to get MAC fonts (Lucida Grande and more) for Ubuntu (GNOME)

Applications->Accessories->Terminal
Copy/paste these commands:





wget http://ubuntu-debs.googlecode.com/files/macfonts.tar.gz
tar zxvf macfonts.tar.gz
sudo mv macfonts /usr/share/fonts/
sudo fc-cache -f -v



MAC fonts are now installed:

Installed fonts:


AppleGaramond
Aquabase
LITHOGRL
Lucida Grande
Lucida Mac
lucon
MacGrand


Now change the default system fonts

+ Right click on your Desktop

+ Change Desktop Backround



+ Click on Fonts and select those you like

Thanks a ton. That saved me a lot of time.

I am a mac user, but in office I use Ubuntu via VBox on a Win XP machine.

Lucida Grande is my favorite text font.

Anyone else that installed these have trouble with the Lucida Mac font? Everything works fine except all numbers do not have the same bolded, defined look.
