hi

i am new to Ubuntu desktop i cant able to install third party software ex: Knowledge tree Linux version .bin file can any one help me

to run a .bin file, you have to open up the terminal and cd to the path, for example, if you bin file is on the desktop then you code that gos into the terminal should be:

cd /home/**your username**/Desktopthan then type in:

chmod +x **filename.bin**
sudo ./filename.binhope it helps :)

usualy, to install third party softwear you need to open synaptic [system > preferences > synaptic package manager] then look up the name of the softwear you want then right click on it and prss "mark for installation" then press the big "apply" button with the tic on the top.
