I am using Ubuntu 8.04, I made some files(or Folders) Hide in Windows,
But these files are Visible in Ubuntu.

The windows system folders like recycler,System volume information etc., are visible and looks not good when I open a drive.

So can any one please help me how to hide the files(Folders)..
Thanks!!!

Hmmn, I think you are talking about viewing folders in your windows partitions, which are hidden when windows is running, using nautilus.

In that case I'm afraid there is no simple solution..

that is the current state as far as I can tell. i.e. no one will agree to it and actually implement it.

You can make them vanish by adding a text file called ".hidden" in each directory, listing the files you want to hide, but that is very clunky.

Sorry that is not much use :(

Is it as simple as just putting a "." at the beginning of the folder name. For example, to hide the "Windows Stinks" folder, you just make it ".Windows Stinks"?
